The 5 C’s of Nicaragua ( from last week… Oops!)

So as I was preparing to give an update of this incredible journey in Nicaragua, I came across the common trend of C. Therefore, let me tell you how God has worked over the past week I have been in Nicaragua! Christ: Oh how wonderful it is to be on a great adventure with Christ by my side. #freedom

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. –Galatians 5:1 One night at training camp we sang the song Break Every Chain by Will Reagan (I have no idea if I spelled that right), if you’ve never heard it, you should probs look it up…but here’s some of the lyrics:   There is power in the name of Jesus To break every chain, break every chain, break every chain.   All sufficient sacrifice So freely given such a price Bought our redemption Heaven’s gates swing wide ...

always faithful.

Sometimes, things don't go as planned.  You plan on posting a video-blog, but the internet is too slow for it to upload. You plan on working all morning in the garden, but it pours instead. You plan on finishing the rock pile, but the tarantulas deteer you from that.  You plan on spending your summer working camp, but then the Lord wrecks your heart and you end up on an island instead. You plan on laying low at church and end up preaching. You are so looking forward to a good night's rest, but the fans break and you spend a majority of the evening praying and...

Simple Living

A normal day here at Cicrin Orphanage:       We tend to wake up pretty early because it gets light outside around 4:30 or 5:00. We usually head down to El Rancho (the hut with hammocks that overlooks the lake) for a little quiet time before breakfast. Our breakfast, along with every other meal, consists mostly of rice and beans. We have become very acquainted with our meals by now. After breakfast, we all gather together for bible study, and right now we are in the book of Daniel. Around 9:00, we start our work around the orphanage. The men have been making concrete...

¡Que Alegría!

!Que Alegría!  I am filled with so much joy each and every day here in Ometepe. Each new day brings new challenges and adventures, and God has been workin through each and every situation. Though I may not understand why God has put certain struggles in my life, He has a plan. A purpose. Here are some specific verses that have kept me joyful and at peace this week: 2 Corinthians 12:9- My grace is all you need, my power works best in weakness. 1Thes. 5:16- Always be joyful, never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who  belong...
