Love Language!

The Lord has such a unique way of expressing His love! When I found out I was going to Nicaragua, I began to pray that The Lord would bring back to my memory all the knowledge I had in speaking Spanish. I reviewed a little here and there but for the most part reste my confidence in Him – that He would bring it back to me at the appropriate time. What I needed to be reminded of was that my idea of the appropriate time is different from that of His. As soon as the plane landed in Nicaragua, I assumed my memory of the of Spanish language would return promptly. I’ll go ahead and get...

Spiders and Trust..

Let’s talk about spiders and mosquito nets.  (Caution: cheesy analogy/rambling starts.. now!)  Okay. So obviously Nicaragua has spiders. Rather big spiders in my opinion. Ask any one of my teammates how I feel about spiders, and I’m sure you will get the same reaction and a few laughs each time.  On our packing list, we were told to bring a mosquito net. You know for Mosquitos (of course) and other little pests like that, but in my case… I keep my bug net up JUST to make sure spiders don’t make their way into my bed.  So I put this thing above my...

Off I Go

“I can see in you the glance of a curious sort of bird. With the close set bars of a cage; a vivid, restless captive. When it put free it would soar cloud high.”                    – Jane Eyre, ‘Mr. Rochester’                                                                                    ...

Truth

God loves me and is for me. His love is not based off of being perfect and doing the right thing. His love is unconditional. I am a dearly loved and gifted daughter of God, who is going to do amazing things for Him. He has created me to proclaim His name in my own special way, and He has some crazy plans for me. I am not ill equipped. Where I lack, the Holy Spirit makes up for it. The LORD GOD, the one who made me and knows me better than I know myself, will show me where to go. He will make it clear, and make it so I can follow Him. I AM going somewhere! God does not want...

Sports

Today is day 17 of being in Nicaragua! It has gone by a lot faster than I expected. The days tend to go by kind of slow but looking back, the trip as a whole has been going by super fast! I have been challenged in ways that I never thought I’d be challenged before and I’ve had to step out of my comfort zone more than I though I would have.  Every week we go to a town called Bethel to teach them some bible stories and just hang out with the kids. Normally I am drawn to little babies, but this trip I have been drawn to the boys. Every time we go, I normally end up playing...
