Help Me Find My Own Flame

I don’t want to ride on somebody else’s passion I don’t want to find that I’m just dry bones I want to burn with unquenchable fire Deep down inside see it coming alive   Help me find my own flame Help me find my own fire I want the real thing I want Your burning desire   Do what only You can do In my heart tonight,   There’s no better time There’s no better time There’s no better time There’s no better time   So many times in ministry and as believers we compare ourselves to others… Whether it be in prayer worship or spiritual...

Wood is Heavy

We have arrived in Chinandega, Nicaragua but our journey didn’t start here.     Training camp wasn’t what I was expecting. At all. I happened to learn a few things like… I DO in fact have an accent (apparently I say “y’all” a lot), you need to bring a LEFT and a right shoe (I just brought two right ones), and that Wood is Heavy.   I’m assuming that you all know those things, and I’m also assuming that you know wood can get heavy. Not at first but if you keep carrying it for a while, it can.   We did this exercise where...

What time is it?

It's GO Time. (…or game time) The past 3 days have been so encouraging and freeing. I am surrounded by people who have such a love for God and His children. My group has  already connected in such an awesome way, despite the fact that we have only known each other for a short time. How did AIM train us for such a CRAZY adventure, you might ask? Here is the answer: – creating an atmosphere to worship in order for us to hear God's voice and his incredible promises for our lives -"throwing" us into a "tibe" of people who spoke using clicking noises and...

10 Things I Learned at Training Camp.

  1. Crazy things can happen when you have twenty seconds of insane courage Whether it's something big like going on a trip for two months with people you don't know, or going out of your comfort zone to pray out loud or to worship God like you mean it, God's going to do crazy things if you give Him a little bit of courage.   2. Our team can DANCE. If it's doing the Cha-cha Slide, the Wobble, or dancing to One Direction, our team can dance. (Shout out to Trey for tearing up the dance floor)   3. Tents are overrated. Why take the time and make an elaborate...

Woah

Woah Woah is such a convenient word! If you start to think about it, you begin to realize how many different moments you can use it for.   Shocked, confused, in awe, and amazed all represent what woah can be used for. I think that the word woah describes my time here at training camp perfectly. I have been shocked, I have been a bit confused at times, but most definitely I have been amazed. I am amazed how in only four days by how much I have been able to learn about myself and amazed at how 15 people from across the states can bond so easily with each other.   People have showed...

A Battle to Fight

We have now been at training camp for the past few days. Camp consists of team activities, worship services, lots of food, and times of communion with Jesus alongside our teammates. We would be naive to think that this isn’t a perfect time for the enemy to attack. We are on the eve of leaving, and there is still the possibility of turning back, what enemy wouldn’t desire this vulnerable moment? The greatest lie ever told is that you are alone in your battle, and there is no one else who has experienced what you’re feeling. I myself fell into this with all the doubts about...
