Help Me Find My Own Flame

I don’t want to ride on somebody else’s passion I don’t want to find that I’m just dry bones I want to burn with unquenchable fire Deep down inside see it coming alive   Help me find my own flame Help me find my own fire I want the real thing I want Your burning desire   Do what only You can do In my heart tonight,   There’s no better time There’s no better time There’s no better time There’s no better time   So many times in ministry and as believers we compare ourselves to others… Whether it be in prayer worship or spiritual...

Wood is Heavy

We have arrived in Chinandega, Nicaragua but our journey didn’t start here.     Training camp wasn’t what I was expecting. At all. I happened to learn a few things like… I DO in fact have an accent (apparently I say “y’all” a lot), you need to bring a LEFT and a right shoe (I just brought two right ones), and that Wood is Heavy.   I’m assuming that you all know those things, and I’m also assuming that you know wood can get heavy. Not at first but if you keep carrying it for a while, it can.   We did this exercise where...

Stepping Out

This is my first blogging experience. There’s a reason for that: It makes me uncomfortable. Going places I have never been and stepping out of my comfort zone has become a major theme in my life over the past few years, and it has been delightful.      Tomorrow, I will be on a plane headed for Nicaragua with people who were strangers to me just about 4 days ago. This is once again, me stepping out of my comfort zone. This past week I have been preparing to take this big step by taking smaller steps to solidify my trust in God and build relationships...

Tears, Fears, and Obnoxious Cheers!

Tears, Fears, and Obnoxious Cheers…..   …..that's what this camp has been made of!   One qoute that had really been sticking with me lately is one from Marguerite Youreanar.   "To possess is that same thing as to know: the Bible is always right." When I first read this I thanked God for the ability to understand and to know things like..   His power, love and grace Beauty in its most natural form How to make sweet tea How to talk and communicate   But…what I didn't know that God was gonna do was allow me...

the awkward laugh

this blog is suppose to be about training camp, so ill try to make it short and sweet. first i have a terrible fake laugh and you would think that being a server i would have a great fake laugh because you always have a laugh for when someone says something awkward at your table. Have you ever got annoyed of your own laugh, my laugh has been so try hard, and i dont know if its coming from nervousness, or awkwardness, or lack of creativity to carrying on the conversation. Meeting a bunch of new people is so interesting to me and you  get to know their stories, personalities, their struggles,...

Using My Voice

2 Corinthians 4:13-15 It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken." With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. I've been reminded at training camp that I have to use my voice. I rely so often on saying that I am a quiet girl so I don't have to be the one to speak up....
