Cry baby, cry!!

Day two/three: Tocca Falls, GA AIM Training Camp In the second day of training camp, I truly felt the presence of God within me! The day started opff with some great worship and then some very powerful words. One of the AIM admins (Jimmy) took control of the sermon and said a very powerful quote, “God works in spite of us.” This means that even when we may think that we don’t have anything to offer or that what we do have to offer isn’t enough, it truly is enough and we do have something to offer to Him. God is so ever present in anything we say and do, and He can...

Great expectations.

So here's the deal: I didn't have high expectations for training week.  I wasn't expecting God to show up like he has in the past few days. I wasn't expecting to sleep under the stars or take a hike and surrender some things to the Lord that have been weighing me down.  I just expected to hear some talks about international safety, be given some points on how to share the gospel and find out lots of specifics about the ministry we'll be doing. But that's not what I got.  Instead of facts,  I've recieved freedom. Instead of how-to...

I was so uncomfortable

The title of this blog is referring to the worship expeience I’ve had at training camp. Quietly singing contemporary Christian music is what I would have defined as worship. When I got here I was asked to make loud, verbal declarations directly to God. Being weirded out by this, I was hesitant and skeptical. After a few sessions, being loud got easier and the things I was declaring took on more meaning. I really feel like my eyes have been opened to a whole new form of worship and I look forward to how God will use that to draw me into intimacy with Him.

Mind. Blown.

Coming up with words to describe my experience at training camp is extremely difficult. From the moment I stepped foot in Atlanta, God has just been blowing my mind. I am so overwhelmed by the amazing people God has placed here. It's so mind boggling to think of how he HAND CHOSE each one of us to go on this specific trip, to this specific place, at this specific time. Coincidence? No.. that's just God. The unity within our team after just a few days is amazing. I literally feel like I have known these incredible men and women for years, and I truly love each one of them with my whole...

Nica training week.

Hello all! So training week was amazing, I have never felt so uplifted! We had many sermons, worship time and great team bonding..or I should say family bonding!  Some of the amazing things that have happened I can't even explain. They happened inside of me and it was incredible, unbelievable and wonderful. The worship was my favorite thing all week, getting so personal with God right before we all leave for two months to serve God was the best send off.

No One Needs Training Camp…

As the kids would say in America, “its opposite day!” (I just used that as my title to pull you in J)   When I first arrived in Atlanta I was a little confused as to why we had to spend four days there before moving on to Nicaragua. In my ignorant mind, all we needed was one day of debriefing and we’d be ready to set off and change the world! Boy, was I wrong or what.   These past four days have been a time of emotional and physical preparation for the trip, strong relationship bonding with my teammates, and rich worship experiences where the Holy Spirit has...
