We have surrendered

Training camp….      The first things that pop into my mind when I think of my time here at training camp are great relationships and awesome worship.       Arriving at Toccoa Falls was super exciting, because it felt like the first day of kindergarten. Everybody was so happy to meet each other and we automatically started building friendships, despite our different personalities. We are children of God, and it's so encouraging to see how child-like we actually are.      The worship I experienced was amazing and I could definitely...

We are one.

I love the power of prayer and I love how God speaks to us when we are willing to listen. For the weeks leading up to camp, I prayed for repeatedly for close-knit bonds and against the fears of regection or seperation that often come about in large groups. I honestly had a huge fear of us picking and choosing our groups of friends based off of traits we're comfortable with and what we have been used to. The first day in our team talk, we chose the word "family" to describe our central movement as a group. We prayed for love, courage, and unity for each other. We also talked a...

Using My Voice

2 Corinthians 4:13-15 It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken." With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. I've been reminded at training camp that I have to use my voice. I rely so often on saying that I am a quiet girl so I don't have to be the one to speak...

That’s What’s Up

I've experienced God meeting me with love, compassion, and grace in the midst of my doubt and questioning. God’s love for me is so great! He’s put some amazing people in my life before this trip and for this trip. I’m bonding quite well with a few of my teammates and am looking forward to growing closer to the rest of them. God has been continuously giving and showing me His compassion for His people. A desire to share that Jesus loves you to Nicaragua has been placed on my heart. Ephesians 1:7-8 àgrace. Even though I have experienced great things, from...

Tears, Fears, and Obnoxious Cheers!

Tears, Fears, and Obnoxious Cheers…..   …..that's what this camp has been made of!   One qoute that had really been sticking with me lately is one from Marguerite Youreanar.   "To possess is that same thing as to know: the Bible is always right." When I first read this I thanked God for the ability to understand and to know things like..   His power, love and grace Beauty in its most natural form How to make sweet tea How to talk and communicate   But…what I didn't know that God was gonna do was allow me...

Stepping Out

This is my first blogging experience. There’s a reason for that: It makes me uncomfortable. Going places I have never been and stepping out of my comfort zone has become a major theme in my life over the past few years, and it has been delightful.      Tomorrow, I will be on a plane headed for Nicaragua with people who were strangers to me just about 4 days ago. This is once again, me stepping out of my comfort zone. This past week I have been preparing to take this big step by taking smaller steps to solidify my trust in God and build...
