Using My Voice

2 Corinthians 4:13-15 It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken." With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. I've been reminded at training camp that I have to use my voice. I rely so often on saying that I am a quiet girl so I don't have to be the one to speak...

We have surrendered

Training camp….      The first things that pop into my mind when I think of my time here at training camp are great relationships and awesome worship.       Arriving at Toccoa Falls was super exciting, because it felt like the first day of kindergarten. Everybody was so happy to meet each other and we automatically started building friendships, despite our different personalities. We are children of God, and it's so encouraging to see how child-like we actually are.      The worship I experienced was amazing and I could definitely...

Mind. Blown.

Coming up with words to describe my experience at training camp is extremely difficult. From the moment I stepped foot in Atlanta, God has just been blowing my mind. I am so overwhelmed by the amazing people God has placed here. It's so mind boggling to think of how he HAND CHOSE each one of us to go on this specific trip, to this specific place, at this specific time. Coincidence? No.. that's just God. The unity within our team after just a few days is amazing. I literally feel like I have known these incredible men and women for years, and I truly love each one of them with my...

Cry baby, cry!!

Day two/three: Tocca Falls, GA AIM Training Camp In the second day of training camp, I truly felt the presence of God within me! The day started opff with some great worship and then some very powerful words. One of the AIM admins (Jimmy) took control of the sermon and said a very powerful quote, “God works in spite of us.” This means that even when we may think that we don’t have anything to offer or that what we do have to offer isn’t enough, it truly is enough and we do have something to offer to Him. God is so ever present in anything we say and do, and He...

I was so uncomfortable

The title of this blog is referring to the worship expeience I’ve had at training camp. Quietly singing contemporary Christian music is what I would have defined as worship. When I got here I was asked to make loud, verbal declarations directly to God. Being weirded out by this, I was hesitant and skeptical. After a few sessions, being loud got easier and the things I was declaring took on more meaning. I really feel like my eyes have been opened to a whole new form of worship and I look forward to how God will use that to draw me into intimacy with Him.

That’s What’s Up

I've experienced God meeting me with love, compassion, and grace in the midst of my doubt and questioning. God’s love for me is so great! He’s put some amazing people in my life before this trip and for this trip. I’m bonding quite well with a few of my teammates and am looking forward to growing closer to the rest of them. God has been continuously giving and showing me His compassion for His people. A desire to share that Jesus loves you to Nicaragua has been placed on my heart. Ephesians 1:7-8 àgrace. Even though I have experienced great things, from...
