Daddy..

I stumbled across this prayer that I wrote a few weeks ago when I was looking back through my old journal entries and I felt that it really encompasses what I am asking for from the Lord and also what He is teaching me so I figured it would be a good blog entry to share with you all….   I thank you so much that you promise you are retuning God and that you call me to be doing your work, I pray that you would be using me God. I commit to you, I say “yes”. I do not want to be “sleeping” when you return Lord. (Mark 13:37) God teach me of your ways, quiet my...

what’s Love got to do with it?

EVERYTHING.   Best Valentine’s Day ever. I don’t want to ever think of Valentine’s Day the way I did before today again. And I know I won’t. I hadn’t even been really excited about this day, hadn’t thought of it much. I realized all of a sudden that being out of America for this holiday has allowed me to see the true meaning in it… I haven’t been blinded by the red and pink that fills every single aisle and store window and every T.V. commercial. This day snuck up on me with no preparation or expectation on my part… Just like...

Everyone Smiles

I wake up every morning to embrace my very early morning run through the dusty, trash-burning air, down a small path here in Nicaragua. And although I may be exhausted and unhappy to be up at such an early hour I can’t help but realize that love has no language barrier. Although it is around six in the morning there is always someone walking the path to greet us with a “Buenos Dias” and a smile. We might also be greeted by the street dogs (who may or may not attack us), or a horse, pig, or other random animal… but that’s beside the point. When I return from my...

Choco Banano

Well first off I just want to say I am sorry this is a week late, I quickly became consumed with business last week and never got a chance to post a blog. So everything in this blog is not from this past week but the week before it, hope you enjoy!   “Choco Banano” is a phrase I quickly learned from the children in Betel and after purchasing this amazing snack for just about 10 cents in USD, I realized that I will come to love this phrase even more. So I start out my blog stating that I am thankful for the very small things here in Nicaragua like being able to eat a frozen...

how beautiful are the feet…

Our team needed a name for ourselves, and we had to pick it at training camp. It didn’t take long to come up with “beautiful feet” and the decision was unanimous. The verses Isaiah 52:7 and Romans 10:13-15 had come up a few times for several reasons and deliver such a true picture: How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns! –Isaiah 52:7 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” But how can they call on him to save...

how do you describe the indescribable?

This indescribable experience, given to me by an even more indescribable God… I can't explain it all. This week has been great in so many ways! I love the sunrises, the coffee, the food, the family time, the people. We've worked on a house for the cook, Estella. We've played with kids in Bethel. We've made relationships with people and had conversations we'll never forget. We've grown closer as a team and gotten to know each other on many more levels. I don't think we could have picked a better ending to this week/start to this upcoming week than what God...
