His Plans Are Bigger

Last week I got the chance to leave the Island and the comfort of Cicrin. We spent one week on the mainland doing ministry there. The first two mornings we were there we spent going to schools to sing, dance around, and pray for each class. I have never seen so many screaming children, running out of their class rooms trying to get a look at us.    Everyday that we spent there God really showed me that He is everywhere. The church that we worked with met at a ladies house where there was pigs and chickens running around. There was about 15 people that would come and spend most...

Reasons to Rejoice

As my friends and family know, I have spent the week hospitalized due to an intestinal infection and parasite. Despite my sickness, God provided for me SO much this week, and for that, I rejoice and am healed in Him.  1. Prayerful People: My parents, friends and family's concern and prayers for me during this time allowed to see just how much they care for me, and I can never be grateful enough. People I barely even know we're asking how I was doing, and for that, I am extremely blessed.  While Dad calling the US Embassy in Managua may be too much, it does make for...

Abre Mis Ojos

This past week, our team separated into two parts: one that went to Rivas on the mainland and one that went to the other part of the island. My team went to Rivas where we were completely blessed to stay with Sarai, a local pastor that has strong connections with CICRIN. Our ministry out there was very relational and meeting people where they are. We got to be part of existing ministries and connect with Sarai’s church. The services were held outside of a house with lots of happy horses, happy dogs, a puppy for each one of our team, and pigs that “caught the spirit” in the...

Change: Natural, Unexpected, Gradual, and Unknown

It's been awhile. But in that while, I have learned a new important detail. What change really means, and how many definitions of change there actually is. Some change just seems so natural. For example,in high school, most people have expectations, whether to graduate, to get their GED at a later date, to go on to college, or to go right into the workforce. Many people see the change coming. This is the expected change. While their might be a little fear in the process, it is something that everyone goes through and knows they will go through. It is also the change that people...

Rocky Trails to Glorious Monuments

I´ve been racking my brain trying to write another blog especially since one of my best friends, Rachel, told me she´s been waiting for me to write more. I start them all off the same only to lose sight of  my report halfway through. So I decided to tell you a little bit more of where I´ve been to understand, even myself, of where I´m at.      This last year was by far the most difficult season of my life. Every obstacle in my life I´d felt I had been keeping under my palms until they finally drowned out my view of God....

Unexpected things at unexpected times

This past week has been the toughest week I've had in Nicaragua. I've struggled with my purpose here and if I'm fully letting God work through me. A lot of our team has also struggled with have colds/sinus infections which has been frustrating. I also have found myself not putting everything into my ministry. A common thing I found myself saying this past week is I want to go deeper physically, mentally, and spiritually. I wanted to know all the girls on my team in such a more meaningful way than surface things. I also wanted to know my identity in Christ more than ever before.  Last...
