Nica Here We Come!

We've almost made it!  Training camp is almost over and it has seriously been an adventure in missions!  So much has happened that it's hard to put into words.  We've been able to learn, play, worship, paint, run, dance, and even play ultimate frisbee.  It has been awesome to get to know our team of 15 people who will serve God together in Nicaragua for the next two months.  Each of us are so different but that's what makes it beautiful!  I cannot wait to love Jesus with them. I think the Lord has been teaching me a lot about surrender this...

#GringoProblems

Friday morning, I left rainy South Florida to head up here (Tocoa Falls, Ga.) to embark on training camp before flying to Nicaragua. After a four-hour flight delay for my hour-long flight in a crowded airport full of grumbling individuals, I arrived in Atlanta, where I was given a ride back up to the college where we are staying (complete with a beautiful waterfall).  Just three days into camp, I'll share the two most prevalent thoughts in my head from the past few days: 1) The structure of worship, expressing faith and the group's community have been something extremely...

¡SOY NICA!

I lay on the cold metal table as the doctor slowly slides the needle further and further into my vein. The new blood is injected into my body replacing the blood that was once present. It is true; my blood will never be the same. But the pain is worth it; this new blood runs through my veins keeping me alive.   Okay, so maybe I haven’t had an actual blood transfusion but I have no doubt in my mind that NICA runs through my veins.   During debrief this morning I was given a piece of paper titled, Debriefing My Experience. It had columns for both the “Great Things”...

Is Jesus really God? (Part 2)

This blog is a continued blog… Through conversation we found out that Jason did know about bits and pieces of the word but only through stumbling upon it somewhere. He told us that he had never read the bible and that we were the first people who have ever told him about Jesus. Blake is a 24 year old man from Arizona who joined the conversation when he overheard us talking about Jesus. When he came into the conversation and started speaking about God something in my being did not sit right. I kept thinking that he was sitting in on our conversation trying to twist the truth somehow...

Is Jesus really God? (Part 1)

Today, April 22nd, we came to Granada to minister to people who are searching for Jesus. About a month ago God spoke to me about going back to the hostel we stayed in for midpoint debrief that is 3 hours away from where we live. Finally after much prayer and God’s perfect timing things have been set up for us to be back here. Our main purpose of coming on this three day trip is to evangelize to people who speak English. We want to spread the gospel with no language barrier and the hostel in Granada has offered us this opportunity. Plus it has offered us an opportunity to spread the...

Be ALL There

“Where ever you are, be all there” A quote with only a few words, but words that have so much meaning behind them. Something I want to start doing is truly embracing every moment, and where ever I am truly being all there. So many times I find myself saying, I don’t know what God wants with my life, I don’t know what He is calling me to. But the truth is we don’t always have to have a deep revelation of what is to come. God wants to use us right where we’re at; we just have to have a willing heart. God gives us passions and talents for a reason, they...
