One Team. One Family. One Army.

One Team. One Family. One Army. Since June 1st, about 200 individuals have joined together at Tuccoa Falls College (Georgia) to prepare for our separate international adventures to India, Thailand, Cambodia, Kenya, Swaziland, Uganda, Honduras, Peru, Guatemala, and of course, Nicaragua. Each team has been exposed to entertaining, informative, and unifying training activities. We have had opportunities to camp out (in the quite frigid weather), learn the excitement (and difficulties) of sharing God’s word with cultural & language barriers, and have individual hikes carrying the...

We have surrendered

Training camp….      The first things that pop into my mind when I think of my time here at training camp are great relationships and awesome worship.       Arriving at Toccoa Falls was super exciting, because it felt like the first day of kindergarten. Everybody was so happy to meet each other and we automatically started building friendships, despite our different personalities. We are children of God, and it's so encouraging to see how child-like we actually are.      The worship I experienced was amazing and I could definitely...

That’s What’s Up

I've experienced God meeting me with love, compassion, and grace in the midst of my doubt and questioning. God’s love for me is so great! He’s put some amazing people in my life before this trip and for this trip. I’m bonding quite well with a few of my teammates and am looking forward to growing closer to the rest of them. God has been continuously giving and showing me His compassion for His people. A desire to share that Jesus loves you to Nicaragua has been placed on my heart. Ephesians 1:7-8 àgrace. Even though I have experienced great things, from...

You Give BEAUTY For Our Ashes

Something I have been praying about for what seems like years, is that God will make his love REAL to me. That I won't just say the words and go through the motions, but that I will genuinely FEEL God's perfect love moving in and through me. My prayers have definitely been answered these past few days, and in perfect timing too. My time at training camp has been unlike any other experience.  I had no idea what to expect coming here, and honestly I thought it would be just like any other seminar type event.  I was wrong.  We jumped right into worship on friday night...

God’s Gonna Set This World On Fire!

"Wow! The Holy Spirit truly showed up tonight in POWER! Abba, thank you for answering my prayer. I feel at home in that sanctuary–I can be myself. I can worship like a crazy person in a room full of crazy people." –Journal Entry (6/1/12) That first night I worshipped with tears streaming down my face, completely overwhelmed with joy in my spirit at the incredible passion of my teammates and leaders for God. What have I experienced these past few days at training camp? Freedom in the Power of the Spirit of the Lord. AIM (Adventures in Missions) is all about the...

The Good Ole South

As a native California girl, I never thought I would say this, but I love the South. I have had some really good fried chicken and seen some adorable houses with porches and rocking chairs. Chivalry is very much alive and well here. Georgia also enjoys naming everything after peaches, making it difficult to differentiate between freeway exits. Residing in Northeastern Georgia, training camp with the Adventures in Missions has definitely been an adventure thus far. We attend two spiritual sessions a day and participate in team bonding activities. Some of our team bonding...
