God is love. We´ve heard this many times, but do we truly know what it means? God loves us more than we can possibly comprehend. We must love like God loves, fully engage ourselves in what is really means to be compassionate towards others, and put on our full suit of kindness and grace.
Yesterday was a day of collecting kids, playing sports with them, coloring and doing chalk art, and just plain old running around and laughing. We made up a skit from the book of Daniel to teach them that God never will forsake you. Though these children have homes with broken ceilings, muddy floors, and little to look forward to from what we as Americans would generally perceive, they have the joy of the Lord and nothing can break that.
I asked this one grandmother what life was like in Nicaragua, and she replied “triste” (sad). I then asked her what would change Nicaragua and she said “Jesucristo”. God is the only one who can bring together the people, love on them, and let them give Him the glory forever and forever. I´ve been told by many natives that Nicaragua is a bad place, that people steal and do corrupt things…still her response was that God is the only answer. This is the truth among all nations and all people. Jesus died for us…how do we being to respond to this with our lives? Ask and you will find out.
