Joshua: Love to a Stranger

After a night in Atlanta, we bussed out to Gainesville, GA, where the AIM (Adventures In Missions) HQ is,  for “training” and team development. After the first day, this little black lab pug mix puppy with no collar came walking out of the woods from no where.

He has since stayed at the camp and spent his days walking around all of the messengers. Perhaps he’s looking for food, perhaps he’s just looking for love, affection, or to be noticed. The AIM group has just fallen for him and invited him into our family to be loved on. He loves having his tummy rubbed and naturally wags his tail as he walks. It dawned on me yesterday that this puppy was placed in our lives as a blessing from God and could be seen as God walking among us. I know it may sound weird, but he just loves being loved. He arrived out of no where, coming and going as he pleases. But as everyone is growing in God’s love together they are also sharing their love with this stranger, who is dirty, may have flees, and has no home. The symbolism is evident as to the connections shared between this little tail wagging stranger and the men, women, and children we will all be serving over the next two months (Even the language barrier). As well as the overflowing love that we will show them. What this puppy will do after we leave, I dont know, but its apparent that he has changed my life just by his being here.  I will find this trip a success if I can change just one persons life, just by being there.
