Nicaragua

I am in Nicaragua! Life has been full of all sorts of newness and change. I am learning more and more every day of how little I am on my own and how great God is , alone!   Toay I went with a few teammates, to walk around the city and pray. Praying specifically that God would show us where He wanted us to go. We had the most awesome opportunities and situations today,  Amazing “only God” planned incounters.   The people here are so open and welcoming. They invite you graciously into their home, feed you, and are eager to try to understand English. ...

The Future

Yesterday we were able to go and spend time with an extremely impoversished group of families that live together and are some how all related one way or another. They live very close to the Youth Center and we were asked to start outreach so the parents would feel comfortable with allowing their children to come to the Youth Center when it is up and running. As we were walking back to the Youth Center, one of the young boys of that family came with us to hangout. His name is Marlon, and he is about 11 years old. Our journey continued with an epic hike with all our worldly possessions for the next two months through an ABSOLUTE DOWNPOUR on the streets of Atlanta. As much as it sucked being soaked, I don’t think i would’ve wanted to start this trip any other way. For a few reasons. #1 It was...

Thy rod and Thy staff.

When I first got to training, my anxiety increased. I was terrified of the lack of communication I will have on the field. I realized that what I would be missing was comfort from my family and friends. I would simply miss being with them and they joy they provide. I began to pray that the Lord would provide comfort. His words came to mind,  “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.” My prayer is that I find all I need in Him....

this is real.

My life is being completely wrecked for the ordinary. I haven’t even left the country, and I am already different than when I came. Life for me has taken on a different meaning and purpose and I am beyond thrilled at what God’s gonna be doing in my life personally, and as a team in the next two months. It’s gonna be epic. Real life, (and RealLife, too ) for me started Friday night when God began to rock my world for the things of Him. My heart was ripped apart for the needs of my very own country – and city much like my own. We spent the first night at the Safe...
