Maria Gabriella

Today we were walking the streets of Jinotepe in small groups. I was with Zach, Elizabeth, Jessica and Ashley D. Towards the end of our journey we were invited in the home of a man named Fernando. He has a daughter (at least I think she is his daughter, gotta love language barriers). Anyway, she is mentally handicapped. She is 24 and is super tiny and cannot speak. She also has pretty intense physical problems. Fernando is missing one leg and also has another daughter who was recovering from surgery and in pain. I spent most of my time praying over Gabriella. Specifically that God would...

carlos.

Yesterday, we were working on the youth center. Some were painting it and some were praying for it. I sat down and looked toward a freshly plowed field. Carlos, a local kid, started walking on it. Scipture came to life and I heard His words, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ruben

Trainings been sweet! My team is super legit and I’m stoaked to go to Nicaragua tomorrow morning! The first night we stayed in Atlanta and roamed downtown with instructions to distribute a dollar, start convos, pray for people, and other randomness. It was sweet, we got into some cool convos and Hannah and I met this guy named Ruben. Turns out his wife was in the hospital having their 7th kid which is stinkin ridiculous; as we talked to him it was soooo apparent that he loved his kids a ton. We prayed with him about his family and his wife, and it was really encouraging. He told us...

Sherman

Our first night of training we were given $1 each and challenged to go out into the streets of Atlanta and allow the spirit to lead us to specific people who really need to be loved and listened to. After much prayer and slight hesitation Jenny, Katie and I were being drawn to a homeless man laying on some stairs of a near by building. As we walked up and started talking to him it became very apparent that he was most likely strung out on some kind of drug. His name is Sherman and the spirit just allowed our attempts to talk to him go smoothly and after 10 minutes he was telling us his...

Human Buildings

Our time at training camp has been a lot of preparation for traveling and ministering in different countries as well as just growing closer together as a team.  One afternoon as a team we were given the word “build” and told just to go with it.  Our group quickly decided to build a human pyramid, with relative success.  Although we didn’t get an exact pyramid we were able to make some sort of human “pile.”  After given the word “improve” we moved on to other human buildings.  It was amazing how after only two days...
