For a moment I told myself no.
I needed rest, I wanted to spend time on the internet, and I wanted to be alone….. I did not want to go to the beach with my team on another one of my internet/free days! Last night I decided I would stay back and have my own fun, my own time alone. That was until God woke me up, literally He woke me up and said I was going to go whether I wanted to or not.
I was a little frustrated that God told me to go, why in the world did it matter! So I did my usual on the ride; listen to my music and block the rest out…. That only lasted for so long though. After about two hours at the beach I was ready to jet, but I knew we had at least two hours more. So exhausted I went to get a cool drink to calm me down, bring me back to sanity I gues you could say. My sainty was not the only thing this drink would bring though, God had bigger plans.
BAM! Before I saw it, a tree branch came out of nowhere and whacked me in the face…. That is when it really hit me, literally and figuratively speaking.
All along God had been trying to get me to focus on the big picture, but I kept ignoring it. I was beyond distracted by my own selfishness to even see what He was trying to show me. God got me to open my eyes, even if it meant running into a tree…. He accomplished His plan!
I knew this was the first step in putting my selfishness aside to see God's glory. God wanted me to take the first step, before He could lead me the rest of the way! From the moment I hit that branch God has been showing me more than I even imagined.
The ride home I went about doing my routine and putting my headphones in to block out the rest out… God figuratively hit me again, saying, "LOOK!" I stood there in awe of His creation. this wholoe trip I have seen beauty but never like today… I thought to myself for a minute. God wanted me to see His true beauty and really take it in. He wanted me to spend that ride home with Him and His masterpiece so carefully drawn out before me! God wanted ME! I want more of Him!
I cannot wait to be "hit," with more trees on this trip!
