The Ultimate Romance

Tuesday night, after dinner, I was spending some alone time with Jesus. I love sitting by the lake and gazing into God´s beauty. As I was sitting there for a while, I was just soaking in God´s presence. Soaking in His perfect love. I could feel Him romancing me. When I imagine my life without His perfect love it makes me upset. It would be so painful to live without His perfect love. The perfect love who comforts me in my sleep. The perfect love who pursues me every second. The perfect love who casts out my fear. The perfect love who calms my uneasiness. The perfect love who...

Blessed By A Child

Two nights ago, Thursday night, was a night I will never forget. The day began in a very ordinary way. We ate breakfast at 8, as usual, then myself and Claire and Sam went to do our daily job, painting. We painted a primer coat on a tutoring classroom and a wall of the boys house then went to lunch, and that is when I got my first hint that something was up. I experienced a demon when I was younger for a few months, but that is a story for another...

There is Importance in Vunerability

For many years I have struggled with the lie: “you are unwanted”. This lie came into my head and the devil found ways to make me believe it. Then I would think about how I do have people around me who want me and love me so dearly. Unfortunately, I let this cause me to hide these feelings even more rather than comfort them because I didn’t really have a reason to complain so I decided to hold it in. This just allowed the thoughts to fester up inside of my head and a belief...

¡Estoy en Nicaragua!

The journey has begun. The journey that, at times, I didn’t believe I’d truly be taking. Yes, I’m in Nicaragua for two months. It’s totally awesome and I feel completely at home. My heart feels total joy. This journey began in February when I first applied. As soon as I applied, I knew this trip was for me, and I knew God was calling me here, even though I had no idea what I was signing up for. Throughout the whole process of applying, interviewing, fundraising, and preparing, I had such an immense peace, an indescribable peace. Although, there were definitely times...

The Other Side of the Wardrobe

My very favorite stories of all time is “The Chronicles of Narnia”. My parents introduced me to them when I was six, and I am pretty sure they regretted it several times over with how much I’ve watched the movies, read the books, and quoted the works. They are beautiful stories full of adventure, forgiveness, and redemption. The lion Aslan is perhaps the greatest character of English literature (in my opinion at least), and the works themselves have been regarded as some of the greatest English classics.      As with any other story, I get...
