YOLO.

You only live once, might as well do some crazy things, like watch chicken get killed, see a bird come out of a snakes mouth (it was pretty much throwing it up), or go to Nicaragua for two months with people you don't know who will become like your family.

We’ve been in Nicaragua for four days, and I already feel like I’ve been year for so much longer. We are staying in Sicrin Orphanage (it’s a super legit orphanage that strives to share God’s love with the children living there). We are super crazy blessed with our living situations.. we got fans and electricity and hammocks and a lake! It pretty much looks like a postcard…

During this next month, we are doing a lot of random jobs around the place. We helped worked on the garden, we threw some rocks, and helped cook some meals! They men are working on a house too. When we’re not working, we’re swimming in the lake to cool off, hanging out with the crazy crazy kids or spending some wicked awesome time with my team!

God is continually teaching me to be His servant. To serve Him, and to serve others. To be obedient and to know that He is all I need. It’s kind of funny because I’ve spent so much time filling my life with things that don’t even matter, and as much as I tried to convince myself that I can love God and fill my selfish desires, it didn’t work. It doesn’t work, and it never will work. God is what I need, and He is all I need. And even though I have filled so much of life with things other than God, he still loves me.  I am His daughter, I am fearfully and wonderfully made, he makes me new.
