So a handful of you all are still like…so what’s goin on in Nicaragua? So I’ll answer a few questions for ya and see if this helps a bit:):)
Who are you with?
There’s Jacq and Lauren (our lovely leaders). Then the teammates: Kate, Alexa, Rachel, Jennifer, Miranda, Kori, Kaitlyn, Jenna, Tiffany and myself-Grace. We’ve all been thrown together from all over the states (+Canada) and have formed a mini family. And I adore each and every one of them.
*there is no significance to the order of the names, that’s just the order of our beds*
Then we have our wonderful Vision Nicaragua family who make everything possible:
Mario-driver
Juan Carlos-driver
Antonia-cook
Estella-cook
Thelma-house keeper
Lottie & Tigresa – our perritos (precious puppies)
Unknown names-guards (and saviors)
Carlos-parttime translator
+ more I haven’t had the honor of meeting yet
Where do you live?
Valid q,
We live at the Vision Nicaragua compound in Chinandega. It’s a wonderful program they have running here. You can find more information here on there website specifically what they’re all about: http://www.visionnicaragua.org/about-vision-nicaragua.html . But anyways, my team and I live in a building they have on the compound. We have the luxury of having 24/7 bonding time because we all share one bedroom and have a community bathroom. And I’m not saying that sarcastically. It’s pretty great. We basically get to have a 3 month long sleepover which is awesome. Jacq and Kate love it because we are always cuddling in their beds:) Other than the monstrous spiders, lizards and other critters that occupy our living spaces, I can’t complain. We’ve been so blessed to stay here and live with the privileges that are available here. There’s running water, outlets, real toilets, a sturdy shelter, a loving community, our meals are made for us by our incredible second mothers, Antonia & Estella, and so much more. We are treated way too good here–so don’t you worry moms, your daughters are in good hands:)

I hope this gives you a little better idea of how a day in the life of the Nicaragua Passport team is. We are so grateful to be here and are enjoying the opportunity God has given us to further His kingdom in Central America. I can’t believe month 1 is already coming to an end..it’s gone by so fast! But we still have 2 more months to go, there’s no saying how God will move in the remaining time we have here in Nicaragua:)
