Touched but not Healed

A couple of weeks ago, Calah and myself stayed with the Perez family in the barrios. At the house lives the momma, her daughter (Yuri), her son (Jorge), and Yuri's two sons (Jimmy and Byron). We stayed with this family for five days, and in that time many things happened but one event impacted me in such a way that I have to share right now.

It was April 26th when a neighbor, Carlos and his daughter, came over to visit Momma. His daughter, Carolina, is five years old. Something that plays a big part in this story is my fish dance. I showed it to momma one day and the whole family laughed their heads off. It is such a silly dance, but they loved it. So everyone including my own sister, Calah, was rooting for me to do the fish dance for Carolina. Anyways, I did it and Carolina didn't even smile. I seriously thought that maybe she had some type of mental problem because she didn't act like a regular five year old. She wouldn't smile nor laugh. She didnt have the joy of a five year old. I thought that it was really ironic that Carolina was so quiet because her Dad was very outgoing. I know that she is five and innocent but it was almost as if she had a hard heart. Even at such an early age.

Anyways, the night was getting late and Carlos and his family needed to head back. A couple of nights later, Calah and myself heard that we were going to Carlos' house. I seriously thought the whole reason of us going was for me to do the fish dance.

Around 7:00pm we all headed to Carlos' house. We walked in the house and it felt so heavy in there. Carlos was the same as last time, very jolly. But then we met his wife, Anna, who was the complete opposite of her husband. She seemed very quiet and sad. Carlos told us that he has another daughter, so we walked past the living room and sure enough to the right of us was an 11 year old girl, Klelia. But she was not the girl, I thought I was going to see. Instead, I saw a young girl, balled up in a rocking chair. She convulsed a couple of times, and covered her eyes numerous times. We were later told by her mom that she can't speak and can barely see. Calah and myself felt like we should pray for her, so we asked her mom and she said yes. Klelia didn't want us touch her, so we didn't. Which is something that we both regretted not doing afterward.

Something important that Calah prayed about was if there was a demonic spirit in Klelia, it would be removed. Before she said that, I sensed that there was something more than just her physical disorder that was off, there was something spiritually as well. After we prayed for Klelia, the Lord began to speak to me very clearly. He told me that I need to come back and visit her, and when I go back I need to read the Elijah story concerning him praying for rain seven times, I need to pray for her, and bring music for her. Not even a minute later, I heard Anna say that she loves music. It was a confirmation, that the Lord was speaking to me.

Before we left I briefly asked Anna if it would be okay if I come back and visited Klelia and of course she said yes. Later on that evening I told Calah what the Lord was telling me. She thought that that was awesome, and she said that maybe she could come too, but it was left like that.

The next morning, Calah read me a devotion concerning Elijiah praying for rain. She had no idea, that was the same story the Lord wanted me to read to Klelia. She then told me that she felt like she was suppose to be a part of praying for Klelia. She felt like we should pray for her a total of seven times before we go back to see her. So starting that day, we began to pray for her and her family. But specifically, we asked the Lord for healing in Klelia's life. We were believing that the healing would already be done before we go back on Wednesday, then it would only just be confirmation. I can honestly say that we prayed earnestly to God for Klelia. I knew that God was going to do some big things in Klelia because I could feel it. I saw the clouds rolling in, I heard the thunder, I smelled the rain, and now my purpose was to have my hands wide open and recieve the rain.

Wednesday finally arrived and I felt like I was going into war. Our team prayed for Calah, Alisa, and myself before we three headed out. I literally felt like I was being shipped out. I had a purpose and a mission that God was going to get done, but I just so happened to be one of the people he would use to do it. Before we went back to Carlos' house we stopped by the Perez family and then Yuri and her son Byron came with us to walk to Carlos' house. We walked into the house, and a sense of peace covered me. To my amazement we were greeted by Carolina's smile. She was the jollliest thing ever. It was the cutest thing to see her sitting on her dad's lap and just seeing a father and daughter love. Anna, unfortunately, seemed ashamed the whole time we were there. She wouldn't even look into our eyes when we talked.

Klelia was walking with the help of her parents to the living room to sit with us. Klelia smiled so much, and I knew that it was only by the prayers that she seemed different. One important thing that I noticed that was different with Klelia was that this time her feet were hanging from the chair, and she was not in a ball compared to the first time that I saw her. There was something about seeing someone in a ball, they look helpless, worthless, broken, and ashamed. But this time, her feet her hanging from the chair, and I saw freedom in Klelia. I saw life in Klelia. I saw hope in Klelia, but even more importantly than all of this I saw that the Lord had touched Klelia.

Before we left for Carlos' house Calah felt like we were just supposed to talk to the family about God and about healing. And guess what the spirit lead us to do? Talk to family about God and his healing powers. After talking to the family for awhile we felt lead to pray for Klelia, but this time we made sure that we laid our hands on her. After the prayer we talked more to the family, and invited them to church. And then Calah read the story about Elijiah praying for rain, and then we song halleluja together.

You may ask, if Klelia got healed. My answer would be that she got touched, and because she got touched by God she will be healed. I am believing that one day she can talk and see. But God brought about a sense of peace on her, and freedom for her.

God is so awesome, and PRAYER CHANGES THINGS!!!
