Hotlanta.

We spent our first night in the Safe House in Atlanta. Late that night, we were sent in to the downtown streets of Hotlanta to hang out with people. I wasn’t very excited about this and a little nervous. My comfort was in the cafeteria, bus or mall. You know? Well lit areas. With my team, we set off. Our area was beside the hospital. Ruthann and I saw two young girls sitting on a curb, so we joined them.

Masey was Asian and the other was Hispanic. Masey’s brother was in the hospital have scans because he jumped into a pool and hit his head. We told them was we were doing and why we were there. She said she knew the Lord and prayed often. She grew up Catholic. As we sat with them on the bench, she began to tell me her whole life. The drugs, alcohol, poverty and abuse. She told it all. I could go on with details, but the big picture is that I told her about the joy of Christ that comes with obeying Him. I told her there is freedom in Him and that I would pray for her. I encourage you to pray for her as well. For me, this story is the beginning of an amazing journey in Nicaragua. I have already been challenged tremendously and I am thrilled to see what God has for us in Nica.
