Today my team and i got to hear about the ministry of the Schwietzers. They are an amazing couple who gave up everything to be missionaries and minister to the nicaraguan people. This couple runs a hotel, casa mateo, and they also started la Quinta and new life center. Which is a home for abandoned kids, la quinta, and then new life is a youth center for children and young teens to go. Anyways to get to my point lol.. we sat in a circle and listened for hours about how god has provided miracles in their life and how god calls and equips you when you least expect it. When you hear them speak it is like God is right there in the presence of you. it is truly awesome. So then this couple which is our host family, the schwietzers wanted us to go around and tell what we have learned or what has impacted us. This one girl on my team jenn, a good friend of mine spoke about how she didnt want to go home. she loved it in nicaragua. As she was speaking my heart started to pound really hard, my eyes started tearing up and i did not know why. It might be that i have already fell in love with these people and that i dont wanna go home either. It maybe that i am ready to see what God calls me to next.. but after we were done to go eat lunch i went up to my friend jenn and started talking to her and i started crying. Again i did not know why. I decided to talk to my awesome leaders to see what they had to say and then karina started praying for me. After we were done praying pastor glen schwietzer came and asked if i needed prayer. i told him hmmm well.. and i told him about my love for missions, and that i love being with people, telling them about the word of god, and just being in new places and that i had this passion for children. all of a sudden we started speaking to me from God everything that he said to me i had been through or i needed to hear. At that moment i was completely still. My heart still ached but i know that it will continue to do so as i see so many people in need of a savior. When glen was done talking he pulled out this bottle and i asked him what it was. He said it was oil to anoint me just as paul in the bible was. He put the sign of the cross on my forehead and started praying for me, speaking in a different language asking God to come and fill me with his presence and to help me see what needs to done in nicaragua. Through this experience i now know what the power of God is like! AND THROUGH THIS TRIP SO FAR GOD HAS COME AND FILLED ME WITH LIFE, AND IS WAITING FOR ME TO BRING LIFE TO THESE PEOPLE WHO NEED IT! i have been changed and i cant wait to see how that can affect me at home or just wherever i am!
