Hola from Jinotepe!
So the first week has been sweet. We´ve been working at this place in Jinotepe that´ll eventually be a place where kids can hang out and play games and dink. We went prayer walking through the city one day. I learned how to say ¿Can i read you something? and ¿Can i pray for you? in spanish (this computer has upside down question marks… such a cool trick), so we pretty much just said that all day and then read from a spanish english parrallel bible. But it was good and even if they didn´t understand half the stuff i said in my super sketchy accent i know it was still encouraging for them. We met this one family that I probs won´t ever forget. The father had one leg, one daughter just had surgury and was sick, and one daughter was mentally handicap. We prayed over each one of them and read some stuff from the bible for a bit with them. It was encouraging for them i think and the cool thing about it is that we walk by there place everyday to go work. So we stopped by again a couple days ago and the girl who was mentally handicap was super stoaked to see us. She was like clapping and screaming sorta. The father like pointed at her and said something that i didn´t understand but i could tell he was stoaked we were there too. I don´t know why that stuck out in my mind so much but it did, and i´m praying for big things for that family and i have a feeling God may do something big. Buuuut ya I´m planning on stopping by there more and talking to them so i´ll keep ya updated on what happens. We also hung out with a lot of kids and it was a blast and a half. Playing soccer with the kids was probably my favorite part. But ya anyway it´s been awesome and I can see God working here which is the coolest part for sure. Whelp time for fun facts: Homemade hammocks are super legit, so i got one. Mango´s straight off the tree are sooooo good. Palm trees are still my favorite. 7 year old girls are better at soccer then me here. Aaaaand my goal for next week is to find a pet monkey.
Psalms 118:22 “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone” …. cause we moved a ton of bricks this week
