God SERIOUSLY wants your heart!

So I was just reread my very first blog called “God wants your heart” and I am finding it completely ironic in the context of my life at the moment.  God did something really crazy in me last week. To sum it up, He basically showed me a piece of my heart that was so far away from Him and that He was going to go to extreme measures to get it out. Last Tuesday was just kind of weird. I noticed that afternoon I had a dull pain near my right lung. As the afternoon progressed the pain increased and grew very sharp everytime I took a breath. Everyone I talked to about it...

Rotten Carrot

So the past week I suffered slightly from a few illnesses brought upon by a 3 week old carrot I thought tasted good.  It put me in Casa Mateo for a few days, which I was grateful to be away from the flies and other infectious attributes lingering around the center.  But among those quiet sick days I was able to realize a lot of things–what community truly means, for example.  When one is down, the rest are down but are also there to pick you up and lend you a hand.  I had friends running to the nearest tienda to buy me drinks and crackers, recording my every bodily...

Marvelous Light

I wanted to take some time and tell you how awesome our God is! He has exploded our team, and continues to meet with us daily. Our team is going through a time of revival, and we are loving every minute of it! The Spirit is manifesting in ways that are blowing my mind. I want to share with you something that the Lord has shared with me during a prayer time yesterday. I was praying and basking in His presence, I started to let my...

Life in the Spirit

The past week or so God has shown up in mighty mighty ways here in Nicaragua and His Spirit is manifesting itself in people in incredible, crazy ways. And all I can say is we serve a powerful powerful God but His love is still so, so big. God is, within this team, building up people in Him, tearing down walls, and making new creations in His name. Within the Nicaraguan community God is restoring broken hearts, making more new creations in His name, and providing the start of an everlasting change to this community. I daily continue to praise God for how He is using His children here....

A Week Away

I am currently sitting in Continental’s President’s Club waiting to head back to Nicaragua, boy do I feel out of place.  When I land in Managua I will take a taxi back to Jinotepe to the teen center where my team is staying.  I will go from the plushness of this complimentary lounge to sleeping on the floor and eating beans and rice.  Culture shock! I have been in DC for the past week celebrating the marriage of my sister to Patrick, it has been a wonderful time of honoring both of them.  In 3 days we had 4 different events revolving around the wedding, all...
