Friday night during family time Ryan, one of our leaders, heard God speak to Him that we should have a time to prophesy for each other. I used to think of prophesy in just a certain way, but through talking to other people, praying about it, and just hearing what my team thinks of it, prophesy is also listening to Gods voice, being able to discern His voice and know when He is speaking, so that’s what we were going to do. We were going to listen for Gods voice and write it down on a note card, and then afterwards we would all draw a name and give what God spoke to us to the persons whose name we drew. So Ryan put on music, Casting Crowns which was so perfect; every song spoke to me. “Love them like Jesus, carry them to Him, you don’t need the answers to all of life’s questions, just know that He loves them and stay by their side, and love them like Jesus” That’s what I am supposed to do while I’m here, love the people of Nicaragua, love my teammates, and then love people when I get back home like Jesus. I prayed and asked God to fill me so much with His love that it would just overflow onto other people. I want to love people like Jesus. Also the song Lifesong came on and there was one verse that spoke so much to me, it says: “Lord I give my life, a living sacrifice, to reach a world in need, to be Your hands and feet”. That’s what my prayer is, that God will use my life to reach His people. I want to be Gods hands and feet in this lost world!
During all of that I asked God to speak to me, and reveal to me what He wanted me to write down. Earlier that day I was reading my book “One Thousand Gifts” and this section from the book kept coming into my mind; I knew it was God saying this is what you are supposed to write down. So I got my book and turned to that part and the main thing that stuck out to me was a verse, so I wrote down the verse then also all these other things that God was speaking to me. So we all came back to our “living room” and were ready to draw names. It came my turn to draw a name and I was just praying whoever I get Lord let this speak to them in such a huge way, and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read the name I drew; it was my name, it said Kacie. I immediately, the saying my team uses a lot, You Sneaky Jesus came to mind. He knew that what I wrote was exactly what I needed to hear, I read over my note again and knew God was speaking directly to me!
I could not help but smile. I was filled with so much joy! I knew God was speaking, well screaming those exact words to me. I am his beautiful creation, He makes no flaws and He is in awe of me. I have no idea what is to come in my future, but I do not need to worry, I trust and know that God has a plan for me, Jeremiah 29:11, he has so a beautiful life for me if I am willing to be obedient and follow hard after Him! I need to trust and know that God is making something so beautiful out of me. So that is something I am going to start striving to do more, know and believe that I am a beautiful daughter of the Creator of life, and that He has such a beautiful journey, called life, ahead for me!
