When I arrived to the training camp I expected it to be lectures and note-taking. I was so wrong. Never have I seen so many passionate Disciples of Christ whose mission is to speak into the lives of young adults. From my amazing team leaders and teammates to the staff, the love of God is overflowing.
Not only are they teaching us how to survive in other cultures, but they are showing us how to live our lives with freedom and sweet abandonment of all that holds us down. We cannot show God’s love to others if we have not felt it ourselves.
I know that this is where God wants me to be and that he has placed this team together for such a time as this. Not only will Nicaragua experience a team so passionate for them, but they will know God. They will know the one who sent us and we will bring the rain.
To everyone that reads this, I dare you to pray your heart out for Nicaragua and our team. I dare you to believe that the best is yet to come and that we will make a difference.
