I played chicken with the train.

Ok, so I didn't really play chicken with the train.

It just so happens that those lyrics are randomly running through my head.

Over the past week I have been trying so hard to write my next blog.

But yet, at the end of each attempt, I am completely unsatified at my attempt to capture my feelings.

So as I sit here in the awesome pizza cafe, I type unscripted with the promise that I will post whatever I type this time.

We are coming up on the one month mark and I can tell.

The first pangs of homesickness are hitting and the bugs are starting to get on my nerves.

Any chance for something other than rice and beans is taken advantage of

And well my teammates may or may not be becoming a tad more annoying than before.

But such blessings have come in this month.

I have seen the power of prayer (Check out Jeanee's Blog)

I have heard a testimony so similar to mine that I didn't know whether or not to think about it.

I have been called a baby and then asked to pay 10 cordobas for a lollipop (it was a joke…in Spanish)

The next month holds wonders that I can only wonder at.

How can I prepare? How can I plan?

Oh yeah, that's right.

One major component of this trip is not knowing.

And for the most part, that is ok with me.

But it can get difficult in smaller situations.

For example, not knowing how someone will take your feedback…

Or not knowing how your stomach will handle goat meat for the first time…

Or just not knowing if the bugs will call your room home for the night or not.

Whatever the case, God is teaching us all amazing, profound things.

My idea of community and friendship has expanded and improved.

Change was bound to happen and it was welcomed.

Well this is the summation of my brain thoughts at the moment.

Praise be to God for Nica.
