Everyday a New Opportunity

Since we’ve arrived in Nicaragua every day has been completely different. We’ve had time to spend with the kids and the people of the church. On our first day we spent the morning playing with the children at the preschool. They are so loving and sweet and the littlest things make them smile. They are beautiful and wonderful.  For the last two days though (Thursday and Friday) we have been practising with the local people from the church as we prepare to help them with “Mission 70”. We have been learning dances and skits which we will have to perform in the streets for the people of Nicaragua! We’ve been dancing and sweating up a storm for the last two mornings! “Mission 70” is the churches mission to try and get 70 people to join the church in a short amount of time and we will be helping them to accomplish this over the next 3 weeks. We will be going into the streets of Nicaragua on Wed, Thurs, and Fri to perform dances and skits to tell people about God.  I’ve never done anything even close to this so I’m not really sure how I feel about it or if I even believe I have the ability to do it. It’s definitely going to be an experience like none other. On Tuesday we will be fasting and praying until 3pm after which we will be able to eat and on Monday we will be doing chores. Finally, Saturday will be our off day on which we will probably be going into town to do laundry, use the internet and do some sight-seeing. Sunday will consist of us doing children’s church in the morning and going to the service at 3pm. So we’ve got a pretty busy schedule and I’m sure the next three weeks will fly because of this.
