“The 8 others”

"The 8 others"

My parents and myself made it to the airport after our 6 hour trip from North Carolina. There were many emotions that were running through my mind. From being exciting to being petrified. When we finally arrived to the place where everyone was suppose to meet, I realized; I am going to be living in a foreign country for 4 months with people I have never even meet. Crazy! To tell you the truth I was overwhelmed by all the people sitting down chattering away. My first thought was "wow" our team increased. But to my amazement it was all 4 teams sitting together.

So we walked to the check in area, Katie gave me my name  tag and from that moment on.  I knew that I was in for an adventure. It was so cute to watch my parents ask so many questions, just to make sure that their baby was going to be okay. Finally, I met my team and we just sat and talked. While my dad was asking question on one side of the airport, my mom was right behind our team listening to what us girls were talking about. About an hour had passed and my parents were ready to leave. My heart dropped when my parents left, but in contrast it was lifted up by the 8 other people in our team. The 8 others who have become my extended family. The family that will keep me encourage, when I can not encourage myself. But most importantly the family that I will continually grow with.

1 Thessalonians 3:12 "And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows."
