Puzzle Pieces

I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me.  –Acts 20:24

The night we entered the city of Managua, I was deeply saddened.  The streets were dark, and the crumbling, multi-colored buildings seemed unsatisfying.  I searched the eyes of the people on the streets and I saw despair, fear and emptiness, but these feelings weren’t recognized by the people that held them.

The next day we met Elvis, Carlos, Erick, Yuri and Edgar.  For the first time in Nicaragua I saw a passion in the young people to learn and to love.  I was uplifted by the spirits of our new friends.

God explained to me one day that each person on my team is a piece of a puzzle.  We are each unique, but we all fit together perfectly to make a masterpiece.  He continues to reveal to us which puzzle piece we are and how He will create the masterpiece of our life in Nicaragua.  This past week He has been showing me little by little my true passions in life and how he wants to work through me.  I feel drawn to encouraging and helping the youth that long to further their education.  Honestly, I don’t know exactly how God wants me to do this, but I do know that through educating others I can become better friends with them and they can eventually confide in me.  Through their trust in me I can show them the love of Jesus.

When you get the chance, please send your ideas on how I can encourage the youth to continue their education and why it is important.  I would love to hear from you all!
