1. Prayer is sweet. We´ve been praying lately for perserverance in a couple different situations. God has really answered our prayers about people in the rehab center, at the nursing home, and in the barrios. It´s so cool how God loves to talk to his kids so He gave us a way to do it through prayer which is just talking anyway, and then just so we´d do it more He put a ton of power in the prayers we pray. It´s one thing to hear this and read about it but it´s another to see radical changes in peoples life after perserverance in prayer.
2. Yesterday at the rehab center we washed their feet just as Jesus did for His disciples. The first week we were there they wouldn´t answere questions or sing and they were kinda sad and depressed looking. The crazy change we´ve seen God work in there life has been awesome. They lead us in songs now, are quick to raise their hands for everything, and are just all around more joyfull…. sooo cool to see.
3. We brought a piñata to the nursing home yesterday and kinda threw them a party and they loved it. The thing i remember most is 97 year old rosa standing up and just going to town on this thing. She was hitting it harder then anyone else and she had so much fun doing it. We sang and danced (one guy wouldn´t stop dancing) and just brought joy into their life.
4. We´ve been playing soccer and hanging out with this group of 14/15 year olds who live across the street from where we do. Like a weekish ago we prayed for them at church and most of them really encountered God. We went on a walk with them one morning and tried to answere some questions about Jesus and stuff, then Josh just decided to have a bible study with them-best idea ever. We´ve met up a couple times and two of them in particular, Carlos and Ben, are really buying into it. Stuff like that really gets me pumped up and it´s sick to see them starting to chase after God.
5. A list of 4 looks dumb so here is number 5.
James 5:16b “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”
Philippians 3:9 “not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law but that which is through faith in Christ-the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith”
