Life is not always sunsets and palm trees and I'm realizing this more and more every day. The way I view life is as a polaroid picture. God has already taken the picture. He has everything mapped out. Every step we are going to take whether right or wrong. He knows every word we are going to say even before we say it and he knows our actions even before we do them. However for us, the picture is not quite clear yet.
It takes time for the full picture to come into focus. Sometimes it may take our whole lives and the picture is still not completely clear. No matter how much we shake the picture (I never really understood why we did that anyway) or how long the picture sets out on the table, it still needs time to develop.
So often in our lives we want things and we want them now. We want prayers to be answered the minute we pray for them. We sit at the drive thru and when our food isn't out within five minutes we start to complain. We have lost the sense of patience and waiting that God has tried to teach us for years.
Life is a waiting game. We just need to get that though our heads.
God hears us, and he answers our prayers and allows things to happen, but in HIS timing. People pray for years for things to happen and sometimes their prayers are answered and sometimes they aren't, or sometimes God answers them in different ways than expected. We need to practice faith in God and trust that His way is the right way.
Keep shaking your picture, whether it feels that it is helping or not. Feed your picture the air it needs by reading the Bible and meditating on God's word. Fill your heart and fill your mind and have Faith. Your picture is coming into focus slowly, one day at a time. Nothing in life turns out good when rushed, so wait patiently on the Lord and He will bring your picture into focus.
