One Team. One Family. One Army.
Since June 1st, about 200 individuals have joined together at Tuccoa Falls College (Georgia) to prepare for our separate international adventures to India, Thailand, Cambodia, Kenya, Swaziland, Uganda, Honduras, Peru, Guatemala, and of course, Nicaragua. Each team has been exposed to entertaining, informative, and unifying training activities. We have had opportunities to camp out (in the quite frigid weather), learn the excitement (and difficulties) of sharing God’s word with cultural & language barriers, and have individual hikes carrying the weight of items we need to surrender to God. We have jointly worshiped with songs, dance, ROARS, declarations, tears, laughs, friends, family, and most importantly, with our Lord.
This entire adventure has unquestionably been an emotional one for me. In the past 100 hours, I have felt confusion, freedom, comfort, joy, doubt, solitude, inadequacy, boldness, and strength, along with many, many other emotions. I have no reservations in saying that I am not the only individual who has traveled on this emotional roller coaster during Training Camp. In fact, I am confident that every single person has grown independently and spiritually through this brief journey.
Needless to say, God is awesome. Not only has He been with me through this entire experience, but He has provided a phenomenal team of 15 amazing individuals for me to travel and mission with this summer. Each person contributes something astounding to our team, filling our group with sheer joy, love, compassion, and honesty. It is astronomical how unified we are only 4 days into this summer. We have already laid so much out on the table and created an extremely unified bond with each other and with God as well.
“12Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.”
– Colossians 3:12-14
AIM declared us as a team, our interactions have molded us into a family, and God has brought us together as an army. We are rising up as an army of God, with the weapon of love, to break every chain held by individuals in Ometepe. We are:
One Team. One Family. One Army.
