love.

My prayer is that my life will never be the same. Everyday, we walk the streets of Jinotepe with honking horns, absurd smells, whistling men and dirty children.

Katie, Ashley and I have made friends with a precious little family. This family consists Socurro (the grandmother), Eveling (the daughter), Jose Luiz (2anos), and the baby whose name I can´t spell. We visit their store often. Yesterday, they invited us to their home the size of my kitchen. They greeted us with besos and we sat down. Socurro asked if she could excuse herself because she needed to take a shower. We said of course. She walked out the door and into the backyard. I heard her pour water out of a bucket. I will never forget the sound it made when it hit the ground. My heart just broke a little. My life in America….whew. Life is real and i don´t want to miss it.

Then, we ate bread and drank coke. They laughed at my attempts to speak. Katie and Ashley know espanol….I am learning:) I love the relationships we have built with them. I loved hearing Socurro say, “mi casa su casa”. She went on to tell us those the three of us were the children´s godmothers.

I am so grateful to be a child of the Father.
