Life in Jinotepe

I feel so blessed to be here.  Change that…I AM blessed to be here.  The people in Jinotepe have so much love to offer, so many stories to share, and life to live.  Families are a big thing.  Everyone is out at the same time, mingling with each other, selling their goods, or whatever it may be.  Mangos are also everywhere.  Literally.

There’s a lot of trash on the ground, you can’t throw toilet paper down the toilets, and there are practically no traffic regulations besides staying on the right side of the road.  Also everyone honks at each other, sometimes I wonder for what reasons.  It rains at the drop of a hat and usually downpours when it does.  Ha.  It’s mad chaos…but that’s from an American’s perspective. I am loving the new culture.
God has opened my eyes up and my ears tremendously.  Praying with people you’ve known for 2 seconds is mighty powerful.  The other day I was speaking my broken Spanish to a very elderly man who weighed about 80 pounds and I just wanted to cry I loved him so much.
Christ lives.  Amen.
