Let the Spirit Lead

Thank you, God, for the promises that you have made!  I haveThank you, God, for the promises that you have made!  I have learned that all I have to do is open my mouth with faith that the right words will come out.  The right actions will happen.  The right people we be prayed with.  The right children will be talked to.  The Spirit is always speaking but am I always listening?  He is ever present but am I ever responsive?
Brooke, Catherine and I were drawn in to a  thrift shore the other day by a huge basket of clothes out front with a sign reading “1 cordoba, 1 piece.”  (P.S. $1 = 22.4 Cordobas.)  So it was a pretty good deal 😉 Although the family we were shopping for had no men in the house, I felt a huge urge to go ahead and grab a couple of men’s underwear, some jeans and a nice button up shirt.  1. Because I knew the Lord was telling me to.  2.  My mommy always taught me never to pass up a good deal 😉

As we walked home, I was led to stop and pray for a man named on the street.  As we prayed, I saw Jesus’ bend down and touch his shoulder and I knew we had to do something special for this guy.  I knew how BLESSED he was.  I mean, he had just been touched by the hand of our Saviour.  So he has a new pair of clothes IN JESUS’ NAME.  I love, love, love that those clothes didn’t even make it home.  And more than that, I love, love, love that God chose us to be His Hands and Feet in that way.  Thank you Jesus!

The Spirit is here inside of us to lead us and guide us.  To comfort us and to help us.  He has come to bring us peace and an assurance of our Inheritance in Heaven.

"Having believed, you were marked in him He with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit GUARANTEEING OUR INHERITANCE until the redemption of those who are God's possession-to the praise of his glory."
                                                                                                 – Ephesians 1:13-14

It is freeing.

So freeing.

To know that I don’t have to make all of these decisions by myself.

I just have to listen.

And follow.

To walk where I need to walk.

Stop when I need to stop.

Talk when I need to talk.

Listen when I need to listen.

Hug when I need to hug.

Give when I need to give.

Tell when I need to tell.

Go when I need to go.

AMEN!
