Our first week is officially done! It feels like we've been here a lot longer than that, in a good way though. It's been a huge adjustment from the food to the amount of bugs and the fact my mosquito net falls on me every night. However, it's all become so normal to me and it seems almost natural now.
God has really been testing me and totally taking me out of my comfort zone completely. I can't even remember the last time I looked in a mirror or thought twice about what I look like but instead I have been so focused on God and what is going on here.
It's been more difficult to communicate with the kids and some of the workers since I speak basically zero Spanish but that hasn't stopped me from forming relationships. It's so awesome to see how you can form a relationship with someone because of having on major thing in common, loving God.
I always get a little nervous when we have one on one time with the kids because I can't really talk to them. But every time, it's always so fun and I form a bond with them. Just something as simple as drawing a picture with them is a great way of communication.
This next week I am going to be going to Rivas with half of the group. It's on the main land so I'm really excited to experience the other parts of Nicaragua! We are going to be working in a church and doing some house to house visits. I am really excited to see how God uses us this next week and what he has in store!
