I am Loved!
I am Beautiful!
I am Wanted!
I am Free!
I am Pursued!
I am the Beloved!
I am the Bride of Christ!
Picture it. Thirty people standing in a field in the middle of the mountains in Copperhill, TN during the darkness of the night. One girl says, “I am Loved.” The group follows her screaming at the top of their lungs, “I AM LOVED!” The people are so loud you can hear the echoes far into the mountains and all around the campground.
These people who shouted to the mountains are my group, Team Nicaragua. On Saturday, we learned of declarations during a session. It is simply declaring out loud who you are in Christ. There’s something about saying who you are out loud that brings meaning and truth to what you said. When you speak the words you are not just thinking the words, but hearing them, also. It just brings a whole new life to the truth of what you are saying.
Up until Saturday, I hadn’t ever heard of doing declarations, but now it is something I already feel very passionate about. Most of us know what the Bible tells us about who we are is Christ, but sometimes we just need reminding of it. There are times when we need others to remind us of this. We are special, beautiful, loved people in our Lord, but we don’t always believe it. So, sometimes we just need that confirmation and we just need to shout it as loud as we can to the mountain tops.
