Abundant Life

“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10
“The Lord had said to Abram, ‘Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and whoever curses you I will curse; and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12: 1-3

It’s crazy to think training camp was less than a week ago; this is my sixth day in Nicaragua and I feel like I’ve been here a lot longer. God is continuing to work through all of us girls but if my sisters are anything like me they’re missing the luxury of training camp. I don’t mean the living luxury because we have it made in Nicaragua- I mean the luxury of having a ton of passionate followers of Christ around them giving them prophetic words. I was so encouraged at training camp and now I’m having to work extra hard in asking God to give me clear answers on what he wants for my team and myself. I know He has big things for Jinotepe and I’m making it a point to discover God’s visions for this sisterhood and for myself.

One thing God really challenged me with this week was trusting Him to give me words and speak out those words even with the language barrier. We went to the Barrios on Friday to do a prayer walk and hand out rice and beans to any families we felt led to give them to. We split into groups; Alisa, Britt, Kevin and me. We went to three houses right away and prayed for the families at each one and gave out our food. I was in awe of God’s faithfulness. He’s always putting a hedge of protection over this team and I don’t think I always realize it until we are back home. I’m overwhelmed with all that needs to be done here and in the lives of these people who are so broken.
I know God works best in my life when I’m broken and humble before Him so I’m not surprised He keeps breaking me down and showing me desperate people. I want nothing more than to share His love with the people here so they may have life, real life. I put some scripture that really spoke to me in my quiet time. Keep lifting up this team in prayer because we are all opening our hearts to the mission that needs to get done here. Also, pray that we continue picking up Spanish because I for one do not need this language barrier to prohibit me from speaking what God has written on my heart.

“God never intended for us to be mere recipients of His love; He calls us to share it with others.” George Foster
