It's one week after returning.
It's one week into life at home.
It's one week into life away from physical poverty.
Apparent physical poverty.
It's one week into apparent spiritual poverty.
One week.
So much has happened!
Visitations accompanied with plenty of story-telling practice.
Training at a new job.
Reconnecting with friends and family.
Arranging move-in.
Creating flyers, check list, and call lists.
Busy, busy, busy!
And even though it has been a week, this is my 3rd night home.
I still don't have a bed to call my own and I'm still living out of a suitcase.

This is harder than Nica.
I know that time will allow things to settle and everything to become more routine.
And although that seems wonderful and safe, God doesn't seem to work that way.
While is Nicaragua, we got to experience the worship of many people.
These people love God with everything they have and were always welcoming to us gringos.
Even if they were lacking in the ability to clap together as a group.
When we first got to witness this….craziness….we were at a "district church meeting" of sorts.
There was about 15 people there…25 including our group (of 13).
We began to sing and praise Jesus but something was different.
By American standards, they should have just not clapped at all.
There was no consistency and no rhythm.
Even a single person seemed to have no pattern.
Although this was a trying time (singing "Shout to the Lord" for them with their clapping and bass guitar player with similar playing style) I learned an interesting thing about God.
GOD DOESN'T DO RHYTHM.
What fun is rhythm?
So you can fit it and not stand out?
So you can sound good and look smart?
Well God knows we get stuck sometimes.
We get rhythm and become consistent.
We join in the patterns of those around us.
God, snap us out of this rhythm!
It's only been a week and a rhythm is setting in.
